New Hope Island train station boosts connectivity for Esperance residents

It’s now even easier to get around the region

Getting around southeast Queensland is now even easier for Esperance Hope Island residents, with the official opening of the new Hope Island train station and the introduction of a direct bus connection from nearby Sickle Avenue.

The new station is part of the Gold Coast’s major rail transformation and provides residents with improved access to both the Gold Coast and Brisbane, while reducing the need to travel to Helensvale or Coomera stations.

Importantly for Esperance residents, the new Route 709 bus service now operates directly via Sickle Avenue - the same road as our community - creating a convenient new connection between home and the station.

The service operates seven days a week and forms part of a broader upgrade to public transport services across the region.

For residents, the improved connectivity means easier access to shopping, dining, entertainment, medical services and day trips across southeast Queensland, while also making it more convenient for family and friends to visit.

The station itself features accessible platforms with lift access, parking, bicycle storage, lighting and CCTV, designed to support safe and convenient travel for the growing local community.

The opening is another sign of the continued growth and investment occurring across the northern Gold Coast, further strengthening Hope Island’s reputation as one of the region’s most connected and desirable lifestyle destinations.

Combined with Esperance’s waterfront location, resort-style amenities and proximity to retail, dining and healthcare services, the new transport connection adds another layer of convenience and lifestyle for residents enjoying community living at Hope Island.
